Print and build your very own levitating Space X Starship lamp right in the comfort of your own home! The entire process can be easily followed along with by checking out my YouTube video, where I break it down step by step to make it super easy to understand. If you want to get all the links to the items I used, just click on the "watch on YouTube" option in the description section of the video. To put it simply, you'll need a few main components: 1. A Space X Starship model... printing it in spiral vase mode is recommended, as even with low infill settings, it might be too top-heavy and fall over otherwise. Using silk silver PLA will give it that sleek stainless steel look. 2. The base / landing pad... for the smoke plume, use a translucent/transparent PLA to maximize the amount of light passing through. I've included files for constructing it from two halves or four parts, depending on your printer size. Printing the landing pad in a solid color is recommended. For hardware, you'll mainly need just a few types of screws: 1. Flat head #4 x 1/2" 2. Flat head #4 x 1/4" A glue gun and super glue will do the trick for sticking everything else together. If you don't feel like going all out, you can skip making the coin cell holder for LED thrusters and just print the magnet holder (thrusters.stl). The Starship model will still sit on top of it with no problem. Need any help or clarification? Your best bet is to leave a comment in the YouTube comments section. Happy building!
