The device can be attached to a wheelchair to generate power through rowing motion. The design draws inspiration from an open-source concept published on hackaday.io, specifically project 7221, Hand Drive. While similar in many ways, my design streamlines the process by eliminating gears. This modification simplifies the overall construction of the device. Currently, the design accommodates forward motion only; however, it does feature a system to facilitate backward movement. To achieve this functionality, a cable-based system must be implemented, mirroring the original Hand Drive setup. This project was commissioned by Mutual de Seguridad C.Ch.C from Chile as part of an initiative by the Direction of Innovation and Development in conjunction with the Neuro Rehabilitation Institute.
