levered-power wheelchair (inspired on Hand Drive)

myminifactory

This device can be attached to a wheelchair to power it using rowing motion. It draws inspiration from an open source design published on https://hackaday.io/project/7221-hand-drive . The design is remarkably similar, but mine lacks gears parts - I aimed for simplicity. Currently, the design is only suited for forward movement, yet it does feature gear teeth for backward motion - a system with cables will need to be built to facilitate this functionality, much like the original Hand Drive. This device was created specifically for the Mutual de Seguridad C.Ch.C from Chile as part of a project initiated by the Direction of Innovation and Development in collaboration with the Neuro Rehabilitation Institute.
