Lever Tumbler Lock

Lever Tumbler Lock

To create a fully printable lock, I chose a lever tumbler lock due to its security. Watch it in action here: http://youtu.be/Fzuhta2IQZ4. The model has three tumblers with six bitting positions each and is keyed [0, 3, 5]. An improved version of this mechanism can be found in the Fully Printable Padlock (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:27205). To print the plate, use ABS and a 0.20 mm layer height with a 200% W/T value. The plate is scaled at 150% of the SCAD file size; adjust as needed for your printer. Sand the key bitting, bolt pin, and top surfaces of the bolt and tumblers for smoothness. Assemble by inserting the bolt followed by the tumblers in order. Ensure the mechanism functions smoothly, and consider modifying the bitting array in the SCAD file to increase security. However, other parameters may be difficult to adjust without affecting functionality. Six bitting positions per tumbler is likely a maximum for this size of mechanism.
