The valve is secured via the spindle as a result of a weight positioned at one end of a lever; this lever has its pivot point affixed to the cover on its opposite side. The load can be regulated by means of a counterweight situated near or at the lever's terminus. The lever is guided within a stirrup that is attracted to the spindle due to a taper pin. The lower end of the spindle rests inside a cavity within the valve, which it is connected to via a pin. The top end maintains the leverage through a steel bearing inserted into the lever.
