A lever safety valve employs a load via a lever, with a weight positioned off-centre from the valve's axis to counterbalance steam pressure in the boiler. This distance can be altered by shifting the weight along the lever to regulate the blow-off pressure. Lever safety valves are particularly suited for stationary boilers, serving to release some steam when pressure surpasses a safe limit.
