Lever Arm
pinshape
Summary This lever is designed to enhance the functionality of the ION water filtration system. Frustrated with the tendency of buttons on these filters to wear out and become increasingly difficult to press, I created this lever to alleviate the discomfort of applying one's entire body weight for an extended period of time. This customizable design can be applied in various situations beyond just improving filter function, such as assisting with opening containers or serving as a door knocker. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 25% Notes: No supports are required due to the press-fit design of all parts. If you encounter difficulties with fitting, consider scaling down the pins to ensure they fit together smoothly. Post-Printing After printing, no additional work is necessary unless your print exhibits a tendency to ooze or stringing occurs. Please refer to the provided images for assembly instructions. To Attach: I utilized 3M double-sided foam tape to secure the lever in place. This type of adhesive holds strong after about an hour and can withstand extreme pressure due to its original intent as a picture frame adhesive. How I Designed This I created this model using Fusion360, taking precise measurements from the water filtration system. I then ported it into Open-Scad for customization purposes. The design features a box-like shape with rounded corners to optimize print quality while minimizing support material requirements. Assembly
