Leveling Knob with UP/DN Arrows
cults3d
I think I like this version better. Manually leveling most 3D printer beds (by turning the leveling knobs under the heat bed) is confusing, so I made this in 3DS Max with extruded UP and DN lettering, with arrows. Like the previous version, I made the last extrusion of the model more circular, just drill a hole for a tap screw (p.s. for better resolution of the lettering to come out, use a smaller diameter head like 0.2mm, and 60% speed etc.) Here’s the general issue when leveling your bed: Looking from the TOP of the wheel: Turning CLOCKWISE = UP = Left Arrow (spring expands, pushes bed UP) Turning COUNTER-CLOCKWISE = DOWN = Right Arrow (spring contracts, pulls bed DOWN) I’m using a 10-24, 15/64” brass set screw and 10-24, 1.25” or 1.5” screws. Hole = 6.0mm, Threads = 7.0mm 10-24, 15/64” set screw = 15/64” or 6mm drill bit for set screw hole (threads are ~7.0mm).
