I have a MakerFarm 3D printer that is a bit too soft. When I remove a print, the leveling system becomes unadjusted. This issue seems to be more pronounced with threaded rod printers. To address this problem, I've researched and found two potential solutions. These methods can be used separately or in combination. Firstly, three-point leveling offers an alternative to traditional four-point leveling systems. By installing additional screws in regular corners, it creates a third point of adjustment. To achieve this setup, I drilled holes in the hotend support plate and attached new screws. This allows for more precise adjustments without affecting the opposing corner. Additionally, adjusting the screw from underneath provides another solution. I employed a standard screw-and-spring method but used an extended screw to gain better access. Three nuts were then stacked on top of each other to secure the screw in place. This setup enables easier turning of the adjustment screw using the bolts. A custom knob can be 3D printed to fit onto the nuts for added convenience. My experiments have also led to a successful increase in print surface area by utilizing a thick raw aluminum plate with hair spray. I drilled holes underneath it to accommodate the screw heads and cut the aluminum plate slightly larger than my hotend, thus expanding the printing area. However, note that working with aluminum restricts temperature capabilities to 105°C, which is still sufficient for perfect prints. I hope these modifications prove helpful to fellow users.
