Level measurement – Capacitance
grabcad
The capacitance method measures liquid levels by detecting the difference in capacity between a probe and either the tank wall (for conductive media) or a tube (for non-conductive media). This allows for accurate sensing of fluid level across the full to empty range of a tank. The sensor operates stably within -40°C to 200°C temperature range and can handle low or high pressure, making it suitable for dynamic environments. The M12 connector and cable connection provide easy installation, and the sensor's body is not directly on the tank to avoid temperature influence. This method can be used indoors and outdoors and offers two mounting types: flange mounted and thread connection. Models with just a probe are suitable for conductive media and metal tanks, while models with a probe and tube are designed for non-conductive media and plastic tanks.
