Letus MCS style ShoulderPad Plate for Manfrotto 501 plate system
thingiverse
A new design inspired by the Letus MCS ShoulderPad/Plate, but compatible with Manfrotto 501 plate system, is being proposed. Instead of attaching in the center, it will be affixed at both ends using countersunk screws into a railblock similar to 'tripod mounting plates'. The central column of screw holes will be replaced by a velcro attachment area. The guide screw channels for tripod connection remain. For those who are unfamiliar, the MCS setup consists of a hub plate for a shoulder pad, secured with velcro. When not used as a shoulder rig, the camera can be placed directly on a tripod. This design addresses several issues: 1) shortens and simplifies the rig, 2) eliminates the need for a separate mounting plate, and 3) places the camera on top of the shoulder for improved stability. It could also serve as a basis for a long plate that enhances shoulder setup stability.
