Letter Sized Tripod Mounting Frame
thingiverse
Here's a simple 2-piece frame to hold a letter-sheet-size magnifier. It features a 1/4" x 20tpi threaded hole for easy mounting on a tripod. Designed with snap-fit functionality, two identical prints will assemble quickly and easily. If your printer lacks the required print area, I've included the Fusion 360 file, which can be split to create a quad-frame variation. Simply divide the half-frame design along its short edge, add a tab and slot, and print four pieces for the same result. This design has potential applications beyond magnification; it could also hold photography gels or diffusers. While I'm not a photographer myself, this use seems logical. If you find the threads insufficiently strong, consider modifying them to accommodate a metal threaded insert. These inserts can be found at most hardware stores and will enhance the frame's stability. To make attachment easier, I've run a 1/4x20 blind tap into the threaded holes. Alternatively, a 1/4" bolt with a groove cut into its end using a grinder or file will serve as a makeshift thread chaser if you lack the 1/4x20 tap. Magna Page Magnifier - https://bit.ly/2XXL7l3
