Letter chair

Letter chair

thingiverse

This chair design originated from a section of the letters G and S in a capitol font, demonstrating how letter forms can be transformed into sculptural furniture pieces. As part of a school project with a classmate, we aimed to learn Rhino modeling software, exporting designs as STL files for 3D printing, laser cutting, and milling setups. We created three models using these processes; see the photos for the completed projects. To print the STL file, it is recommended to add one extra shell for better support during printing, despite being able to print without support. Overhangs may require additional attention. For laser cutting, use an AI file with 3mm thick material like cardboard or various plastics and wood. Additionally, a milling AI file is available for 3/4 birch plywood. The source file is included for those interested in further exploration of the design process.
