Let's improve your 3D-printer Layer Calibration !!

Having trouble calibrating your printer? One of the most important things is that your first layer is absolutely perfect, setting the stage for a flawless 3D-print. But that's not all - every visible side of your 3D-print must also look great. To help you achieve this, I created a simple design that quickly indicates whether your printer calibration is spot on and if your printer setup (extruder settings, etc.) is just right too. Before printing this test piece: Calibrate your printer with your calibration card or whatever method you normally use. Start printing this: Print this with a skirt: 4 lines, 1 layer. While printing this: You can skip this step, but if you dare, adjust the bedlevel screws a bit when it's printing the skirt, another fine-tuning of the bedlevel. Be cautious - accuracy matters! After printing this: * Don't remove the print yet; instead, check it with a loupe to see how well it turned out. + If not okay, make adjustments to your bedlevel and printer settings as needed. * Remove the print and use a micrometer and a loupe to measure the block's dimensions: 20mm x 10mm. Inspect the outside of the block for any imperfections - under- or overextrusion, blobs, elephant feet, or other issues. + The block should fit snugly into its adapter (gap = 0.2mm). Repeat this process until your printer produces a perfect print every time.
