LesWheels Toy Car #1
thingiverse
Everyone loves HotWheels cars, so why not calling my own collection LesWheels? As someone who loves designing their own rides, I'm proud to share these creations with the community without any costs involved. Since HotWheels cars are typically around two to three inches long or 1/64 scale, I thought it would be fun to explore bigger sizes and even create my own versions. The latest car I designed, named LesSings8, has been a great learning experience. It took me about three days of tinkering with computer-aided design (CAD) software to come up with this unique creation. The main goal was to figure out how to make these models both assemble and paint well, so they look just like real vehicles. One innovation I've tried is creating a sprue sheet, similar to what you see in conventional injection molded car kits, but on a flat, single layer surface that makes painting much easier. Once the paint has dried completely, all I need to do is trim it carefully with an x-acto knife and voila! My models are ready to shine. I'm thrilled to report that my LesSings6 model turned out perfectly fine after taking it to print. What's even cooler is that this particular model features a bigger 1:36 scale body, fenders, and seat area along with tiny footholes – which I later removed to give it a sleeker look overall.
