LesWheels Toy Car #1
pinshape
Everyone loves HotWheels cars, so why not design your own custom cars? My name is Les, so I call mine LesWheels. These tiny cars are 1/64 scale, which means they're roughly two to three inches long. I'm sharing my designs for free, so anyone with a printer and some know-how can build their own without paying a dime. Here's what I've learned while creating the first car, bLesSings. bLesSings8: I still haven't printed this model yet. It took me around three days to design it using CAD software and make adjustments as I went along. I'm figuring out how to make these models assemble easily and look good with paint. One cool thing I've come up with is the sprue sheet. It's like a tree that holds all the parts together, making it easier to paint them. Once they're dry, you can simply trim the sheet with an x-acto knife to separate the pieces. bLesSings6: Now that I've printed this model, everything turned out great! This larger 1:36 scale car is just the body, fenders, and seat area with holes for your feet. Later on, I removed those holes to give it a cleaner look.
