UNLV Skeletal and Dental Biology Lab A young woman named Lesley lived a life cut short, somewhere between 2146-2023 BC. At the tender age of 18 to 20 years old, she was already dealing with the aftermath of a brutal poliomyelitis infection that left her paralyzed from the waist down. This debilitating disease would ultimately contribute to her untimely demise. Lesley's remains were unearthed by Dr. Debra Martin at UNLV, shedding new light on this ancient individual's life and death. Alecia Schrenk, also of UNLV, meticulously analyzed Lesley's skeletal and dental biology, seeking to unravel the mysteries of her past. Benjamin, another expert from UNLV, skillfully photographed and rendered Lesley's remains, providing a lasting visual record of her existence. Mathew Tucker brought Lesley's story to life with his haunting voiceover narration.
