The lemur-like primate known as Leontopithecus rosalia was first described by Carl Linnaeus in the year 1766. This golden lion tamarin is scientifically referred to as a silky tamarin. The specimen number for this particular animal is MZB 96-0532. Examination of its skull reveals the following measurements: high, width, and depth in millimeters are 27.8, 27.8, and 57.5 respectively. This is an adult male golden lion tamarin that was found at the Barcelona Zoo in Spain on July 4th, 1996.
