A sketch from Cornell University Library inspired this project which is available at http://kmoddl.library.cornell.edu/leonardo/ and features a reciprocating mechanism with a worm gear. It was modeled using Solidworks 2016, rendered with Simlab Composer 6 Mechanical Edition and the frames edited in Virtualdub before being saved as AVI/X264 and BMP. The video was remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui while gifs were made using PhotoScape. IrfanView was used for renders edits. The 3D-PDF, ZIM, and SIMLAB files are animated, and the ZIM file can be viewed on IOS and Android devices through the free Simlab Viewer app after being seen in the link provided. The model is also available in various formats including Solidworks 2016, Simlab Composer 6, DAE, STEP, IGES, STL, Parasolid, OBJ, 3D-PDF, SketchUp, 3DS, and ZIM.
