Leonardo da Vinci inspired self supporting bridge
thingiverse
I created this bridge puzzle specifically for the Maker Faire Vienna in April. It draws inspiration from the detailed sketches of Leonardo da Vinci and relies solely on cleverly designed interlocking pieces to hold together without any need for glue, nails or screws in the easy version. In the hard version, it's simply friction between the parts that keeps everything intact. To build a bridge with either version, you can download a file containing seven sets of pieces from my website, which should be enough to construct a decent-sized structure. If you want something bigger, feel free to cut more pieces using the files for one set. For those interested in learning more about this project, I've written a blog post that goes into greater detail: https://regendrogenbogen.wordpress.com/2016/06/25/da-vinci-bridge/ If you don't have access to a laser cutter but still want to try your hand at building this bridge puzzle, you can purchase the necessary components on Etsy from DaVinciModelShop.
With this file you will be able to print Leonardo da Vinci inspired self supporting bridge with your 3D printer.
