Gicks shares his first attempt at creating a lens hood for the Canon 18-55 kit lens, still a work in progress but ready to share preliminary results. The bayonet notch needs adjustment and pliers were used to remove it. Printing issues occurred due to Ultimaker settings. Gicks hopes to inspire others and improve design. UPDATE: Version 2 now available with improvements such as removing the bayonet notch, changing thickness from 1.2mm to 1.0mm for better stiffness, and sharing print settings used on the Ultimaker with 5d firmware, Replicator G 25 beta, and Skeinforge 35 using profile: Ultimaker failsafe V1 with a layer height of 0.3mm.
