The modeling was done using ortho-photos of a real lens, so all the details of its design were recreated most accurately. One major benefit of this model is that it's easy to use - it consists of just two meshes, making it low-poly (and therefore lightweight on system resources), and has two materials: the Lens body and Glass Lens. Whichever renderer you choose to use, this model will always look realistic thanks to its high-quality photo-textures. The thoughtful design of the low-poly model combined with detailed textures means that a minimum amount of polygons can achieve maximum quality, which is more than enough for close-ups. For added realism, additional textures such as Specular, Glossiness, and Bump are used - for the best results, try setting Bump Multiplier to 0.1-0.2 in Maya Software materials or V-Ray MTL materials for Maya. The Specular and Glossiness maps enable various reflective and dispersing capabilities across different areas of the model, resulting in a more lifelike appearance that can be achieved with even more materials.
