Lens hoods for Canon EF 50mm f1.8 STM (compact, square, round - 3types)
thingiverse
This lens hood is specifically designed for Canon EF 50mm f1.8 STM lenses. A lens hood attaches itself to the front of your lens and blocks stray light from causing flare in your photographs. It also helps protect the lens from damage if you bump into something. By simply adding a lightweight accessory to your camera lens, you immediately improve your image quality and lens durability. Designed to keep glare from entering the lens and interfering with image quality, lens hoods are essentially just molded pieces of plastic or lightweight metal with screw threads or plastic snaps for attaching to the end of your lens. Lens hoods are custom shaped for a lens's focal length to provide maximum light protection without interfering with the field of view. But lens hoods often come with high price tags. I had no choice but to complain about asking for too much money for a hood made from simple construction and common materials, and I wanted to come up with an alternative. With my limited skills, it was never easy to create a hood that fits the purpose of the hood and fits well with the lens at the same time. (In many areas, I referenced the structure or appearance of a ready-made lens hood) and I tried to design the hood by applying an internal uneven structure to suppress the reflection of light entering the hood. Considering the function and appearance, I thought about which type would be more efficient, so I came up with three types of designs. Choose according to your preference.
