The original lens hood cost around 20 bucks, so I decided to create my own instead. As a beginner with Fusion 360, this project was a fun little challenge that took me about three attempts to perfect. I had to carefully file down the tiny plastic tab on my printer to ensure it snapped in place smoothly. Since I couldn't find reliable measurements for the original lens hood anywhere, I relied on eyeballing some dimensions. While it might be possible to make it 5mm longer without causing vignetting, I played it safe and it still gets the job done effectively. Feel free to modify and share your improvements! I hope this helps others save money on overpriced Nikon accessories and invest in more filament for exciting projects instead!
