Lens hood for Zoom Q2n Handy Video Recorder
thingiverse
The Zoom Q2n Handy Video Recorder is a compact video camera tailored for high-quality live audio recording. It comes with two notable drawbacks: 1) limited battery life - which this product won't address, and 2) excessive susceptibility to lens flare even in routine lighting situations - which this device was designed to mitigate. Currently, you can purchase a lens hood from Zoom only as part of an accessory kit. This kit seems decent if you really need all the components, but it's quite pricey (~$50US) for just the lens hood. It's unfortunate that the lens hood isn't included with the base product - it's essential. This is a rapid prototype; a work in progress. It provides flare protection only for the most common - overhead lighting - scenario. The hood petal was designed through trial and error. It works well in the limited situations I tested without obstructing the camera's field of view (nor its sound pickup pattern, as far as I can tell). If you have the capability to develop a hood with more comprehensive and effective coverage, that would be fantastic! Print Settings Printer: Monoprice Maker Select Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No
