Lens Hood for Sony SAL24105 or Minolta AF 24-105mm F3.5-4.5 D

UPDATE: there is now a two-part version available for flexible materials: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2950834 This lens hood was designed to fit snugly over the lens when reversed, preventing it from getting caught. The margin between the edges and view port of the lens hood is slightly over 1mm. The mounting force required is significantly less than the original version, which helps protect the lens if it's hit by an object. I dislike most stock lens hoods because they're too bulky, poorly matched to the field of view, and difficult to fit without risking damage to internal mechanisms. The SAL24105 is Sony's version of the former Minolta AF 24-105mm F3.5-4.5 D lens, which I consider the best option for full frame cameras with a mount. The only drawback is that it's prone to flare, but this lens hood improves upon the stock design. The lens hood features marks for alignment in working position and can be secured in reverse position by twisting it 45 degrees. In this position, the stock hood looks nicer. A drawback of homemade lens hoods is their shiny material. A narrow opening at the front helps reduce this issue, while sanding or applying matt black paint may also provide relief. I used PETG for this project.
