I finally discovered a compatible lens hood that perfectly suits the original GoPro Hero HD waterproof hard shell case, allowing my Phantom DJI to fly with flawless shutter results from direct sunlight exposure. This clever design features strategically cut petals ensuring zero vignetting in 720 x 60 FPS mode - other resolutions are yet to be tested for compatibility. To achieve a precise fit, I expertly trimmed the hood slightly smaller than necessary and applied a light layer of friction material on the plastic ring using a hobby knife.
