This component serves as a versatile lens holder for various optical experiments. Its 1/2-inch vertical post accommodates a range of lenses, up to 1 inch in size, while two hold-down screws with nut traps provide secure fastening options. For enhanced customization, the design allows for adjustments to be made for larger or smaller lenses and posts as needed. The holder features raised lettering, enabling users to annotate it easily and minimize confusion during experiments. The component was adapted from the Open-Source Optics project, which aims to significantly decrease the cost of scientific optical equipment: by the Michigan Tech's Open Sustainability Technology Research Group.
