Lens cap holder v2 for 52 and 58mm cap
myminifactory
Hello, I've been searching the internet for a while now for various lenscap holders to print in 3D, but none of them met my needs. So I decided to create one myself. Here's my custom lenscap holder designed for two types of lens caps: 58mm and 52mm. It's compatible with Canon camera straps and can be printed in 3D. You can view the dimensions on the technical drawings below (4mm thick). http://example.com/lenscap-holder-v2-1024x724.jpg Once I finished designing it on Autodesk Inventor, I wanted to print it in 3D at my local fab lab. They have 3D printers available. The first prototype showed its weaknesses, particularly with the strap handles. So I created a second prototype that is fully functional and durable. The photos below show the lenscap holder and its adapter with a 58mm cap clipped on. You can also put a 52mm cap in the center hole of the smaller bore. I printed two lens cap holders on my Ultimaker 2 in one hour, which costs about $3 per unit - quite acceptable. Here are the printing parameters I used in Cura: http://example.com/parametres.png http://example.com/parametre-2.png The STL files for printing are available for personal or family use only. No commercial use is allowed. Feel free to leave a comment on this post if you have any questions about the lenscap holder, or contact me directly.
