This lens cap protects the camera's fragile lens cover leaves and keeps pocket fuzz out of the lens elements inside the turret, ensuring a snug fit. It solves the issue of lens turret jams by using a sheet-metal plate that bears against the non-moving turret rim, with the plastic ring spacing it two thread thicknesses away from the cover. The plate recess features a built-in support ring removable by twisting small tabs and secured in place with acrylic adhesive. Its bright yellow filament makes it hard to lose, while preventing lens errors when accidentally left on. The OpenSCAD code allows adaptability for various cameras, encouraging users to regenerate the STL file based on their printer's thread dimensions.
