4/26/2019 I'm still not satisfied with my design, so here's another update - the fourth since my original post. I've made some significant changes to address the issues that were holding me back. I've removed the notch at the bottom of the phone case, and it seems to work just fine. In fact, it even blocks the area where Moto Mods are attached, which was one of the key design challenges. I found a great tutorial on how to do this online, so thanks to that for the inspiration! Unfortunately, I had to modify my case to accommodate a different model phone - specifically, my Moto Z Force Droid XT-1650-02. The original design from Bear02 on Thingiverse just didn't fit right - it covered some of the sensors and the holes didn't line up properly. I tried printing 10 prototypes before I was happy with the final result. Each time, there were a few areas that bothered me, and as a left-handed person, you may find that this case is even more finicky for you. But don't worry - it's all part of the process! One thing I made sure to get right was ensuring that all of the sensors are uncovered, and the microphones and cameras are free from obstructions. It wasn't easy, but I'm proud of what I've achieved. Overall, I think this is a great design for anyone looking for a free phone case solution - and it's likely one of the best options out there!
