Lektyka, Francja, 2. poł. XVIII w.
sketchfab
The bookcase is in the style of Louis XV; it has a shape similar to that of a standing rectangular prism on a narrower base, bulging at the lower part of its back and sides; its construction is skeletal-frame based; frames are enclosed with moldings of wavy outline, with painterly decoration of panels in the type of fêtes-galantes with elements of rococo ornamentation and chinoiserie. The bookcase has an original, eighteenth-century design; paintings were applied to it in France in 1887 (such a conclusion was drawn based on the inscription on the reverse side of the door panel), at that time it also underwent repairs; one of four preserved in Poland is the bookcase. Location and date/time of creation: France, second half of XVIII century, repair in XIX century. Materials/technique/dimensions: Oak wood, beech (construction), pine (panels), carved wood, gilded, polychromed, bent; dim. 190 x 76 x 78 cm. Collections of the Museum in Gliwice - Department of Art and Fine Arts. Scan 3D: 3D Master company.
