Leiston Abbey 2015: Trench 19 Post-Excavation

Trenches 16 and 19 are diving deep into a previously unexplored area east of the abbey, an investigation last conducted in 1985 by English Heritage who pointed to its location as likely home to infirmary buildings. This year's excavation will shed light on this region which has been ravaged by heavy ploughing over recent years.
