Leifheit makes a really cool retractable clothes drying rack:\r\n\r\nhttps://www.amazon.com/Leifheit-83100-Telefix-Retractable-Clothes/dp/B000JG1KP4\r\n\r\nThe main issue with this sturdy metal rod-supported clothes dryer is that the plastic used to support them is not quite strong enough to handle wet clothes and the yanking and pulling as they are removed. As a result, the rods tend to break off from the plastic sliders that travel in grooves on the two arms that fold out.\r\n\r\nI designed replacement parts for all of the plastic components. This includes the sliding parts on both sides, which are mirror images of each other; the front sliding parts, which are shorter than the others; the plastic ends that fit over the rod; and a pin to hold the rod to the slider. The original design has the end ultrasonically welded, but the little pin works just as well. You can use a tiny bit of super glue to keep it in place.\r\n\r\nYou should definitely print this using PETG or ABS material. PLA will be too brittle for this project. \r\n\r\nI've included my Fusion 360 files for anyone who wants to improve on the design. However, I did not use parameters because the design had too many dimensions and was quite complex, so I didn't have time to enter all the parameters.
