Leica Rangefinder Polarized Filter Holder
thingiverse
This is a custom polarized filter holder that I created specifically for my Leica M6 and M9 rangefinder cameras. The design allows for a 77MM polarized filter to be securely attached to the end of my 50mm f/2 Summicron lens, with a filter thread diameter of 77mm and a lens diameter of 47mm. The clever clearance system enables easy installation and removal of the filter without any screws or clamps, eliminating the risk of scratching your valuable lenses. I've also added a convenient slot on the outside of the flange so you can see the filter's effect as you twist it within the ring, giving you complete control over your shots. The compact design ensures that it won't interfere with the focusing square in the viewport, making it perfect for photographers who value precision and convenience. This adaptable design can easily be modified to fit other lens sizes, making it a versatile accessory for any photographer's kit. I designed this holder using Fusion 360 software, and printed it with the lens side facing up, utilizing support structures for added stability.
