Leica M Hot Shoe Flash Cap Cover
thingiverse
I recently discovered that standard hot shoe covers wouldn't work on my M3 due to its unique corner notch and end screw design. As it turns out, Leica's hot shoe type is non-standard, and I couldn't find any information about an ISO standard for this feature anyway. So, I decided to create my own custom cover. I designed the new cover with room for the spring-loaded contacts to snap back into place when not in use, ensuring they don't stay compressed. This thoughtful design detail gives a satisfying clicking sound as the cover is slid in position. After a few iterations, I'm confident that my custom hot shoe cover fits well without being too complicated for others to print for their own cameras. To make it more versatile, I've updated the design to cover the top of the screw as well.
