Leia

It's Princess Leia! I've been working on this model since the summer and I attached a work-in-progress picture. For references, I looked at her hair from Endor and her general likeness from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I also exaggerated the details in the 3D model so that they would show up in the final print. To achieve better printing results, I recommend printing at a large size and a slow print speed (180 mm scale and 20 mm/s). For post-processing, I sprayed it lightly with sandable white primer. Then, I sanded it with 220 grit sandpaper. After sanding, I sprayed it again lightly with the white primer and sanded it again with the same grit. Finally, I sprayed it with a water-based polycrylic (clear gloss) for a hint of sheen. To create realistic rock cracks, I used brushes supplied by Luis at cubebrush.co/luisarmstrong3d/products/zywuhq/rocks-cracks-brushes. The first image is the printed version and the second one is the rendered version.
