Legolini front hand grip holder, rear hand tension reliever
thingiverse
The piece is a small add-on designed for the impressively crafted Legolini from Lukasz, who drew inspiration from none other than the master himself: Jorg Sprave. As demonstrated on Jorg's larger Legolas bows on his YouTube channel, Jorg cleverly added a front piece to the sliding section, allowing the bow to be held with the front hand when stretched, making aiming significantly more relaxed as the rear hand no longer bears the full weight of the string's potential energy. The front hand now handles the majority of the muscle work, freeing up the rear hand to relax, resulting in a smoother shot release and improved accuracy. "LET ME SHOW YOU ITS FEATURES:" I designed a small piece that slides over the Picatinny rail on the bow, replicating the same functionality as described above. When the bow is cocked, you can easily grasp it under tension with your index and middle fingers from the front hand. Naturally, I added another section of Picatinny rail to accommodate mounting a laser or red dot sight, complete with a slot that is lacking on the original bow's rail. My design skills are modest at best, but this add-on works flawlessly nonetheless. If the size of the front grip appears slightly off during printing (meaning it won't fit over the Picatinny rail on the sliding bow section), don't worry about filing or sanding; instead, apply a small amount of grease to the Picatinny rail on the bow. Next, use a heat gun to warm up the hollow area of the front grip's Picatinny rail (be cautious not to overheat it, as this may cause deformation). While still warm, slide the piece onto the bow's rail. Allow it to cool, and due to the grease, you'll be able to remove it from the bow easily. Wipe off any excess grease on the rail, and you're good to go. A huge thank you goes out to both Lukasz and Jorg for their inspiration and expertise!
