I was Frustrated By Design Flaws, So I Took Matters Into My Own Hands. Like many others, I was fed up with not being able to get these tiny parts to fit together seamlessly due to their identical inner and outer diameters. It was time to take action. I imported the STL file into SketchUp and used my rough measurements to draw a new design from scratch. To ensure a perfect fit, I tweaked the tolerance for the push-fit circles at the end of each leaf, and gave the inner edge a subtle bevel to eliminate the need for supports altogether. These tiny parts have been printed with precision using a 0.3mm layer height on a 0.4mm nozzle, with a generous 10% infill in PLA. The result is a seamless fit that's nothing short of impressive. However, it's worth noting that other plastics might require a different tolerance, so I'll be uploading the SketchUp file along with step-by-step instructions on how to adjust the tolerance very soon. 11/4/2016: A New Design Emerges. I've just updated the stud ornaments by adding a beveled inner edge and an outer lip. But my work isn't quite done yet - I'm still fine-tuning the clearances, so they might not be perfect just yet.
