Here's how to make a Servo Mounts to Attach Servo to Technics System, Turret. I'll show you a Turret system that makes use of standard servos, Legos, and an Arduino. Here's what you need to do. I could use the excellent Lego cannons that were available. I'd had trouble getting other systems to shoot accurately using small components, so I designed this one to work well with my standard servos and Legos. This turret uses 3-4 servos depending on how much movement you want, I used three standard-sized servos for left/right elevation, rotation. The trigger servo is a micro servo from Radio Shack, the others are HiTecs. The Servo Mounts were inspired by those available at Mindsensors.com but I improved upon them. Check out these pictures to see how they work. You won't need the circular horns unless you want to integrate your servos with the Lego system in another way than shown here. You will also need the screw adapter horn that came with your servos when you bought them. Here are the recommended parts: 3-4 standard servos (HiTec), 1 micro servo, three Servo Mounts, a trigger and one CannonHorn, air tubing of various lengths, dental floss and miscellaneous Legos. Cut the Air Tubing in half to use for your setup. Connect each tube end on each side of the trigger. Then attach it all up with Dental Floss going through tubes from micro servo horns and the cannons pins, secure both ends then add some super glue so nothing is moving out accidentally check more pics as there are several images on this design in progress to ensure it does get completed correctly as possible. Here is my set of recommended tools to build your Servo Mount: Arduino board (with a XBee, PC with Visual Basic, and an iPhone), Motor shield designed myself to handle amplified outputs (motor, servo etc), serial interface (serial console), Micro-Servos x3, Standard-sized servo HiTec 3.5 degrees rotation or standard legos in 1:20 size ratios on all parts, lego tubes for cannon attachments with trigger setup included.
