Feedback from Mech Platform indicates that it would be awesome to link basic plates together seamlessly. As a result, V2 allows for creating platforms while also enabling plate linking to form a massive game board. You can print clips to secure them or bend card or wire slightly. Adjusting the x and y parameters will yield larger plates, or you can use round_frame to create curved ones. You should be able to construct walls using card with tabs that engage slots between tiles. Alternatively, print some in plastic with doors, windows, surface textures - don't forget to share! The code for these features is located within LMechPlatform2.scad, accompanied by some instructions. The naming of modules and parameters should be straightforward, but feel free to experiment with the parameters in the modules to see what they do. By my convention, I implement the module after the code (commented out when not desired). The test pieces I printed are at the top of the file. The included files consist of my standard routines for drilling holes and rods the correct size (rodsandholes.scad) as well as an algorithm for obtaining walls that are an integer number of threads thick (thread_calc.scad and printer_settings.scad). If you input your nozzle diameter and layer height in the printer settings file, thread_calc performs the calculation based on the rectangle and two semi-circle model. You may need to persuade your slicer to do the simple thing though (advanced settings in Slic3r set the thread width to nozzle_diameter + layer_height). The walls of the clips are a single thread wide; you will need to check the "detect thin walls" parameter in Slic3r to print them. Other slicers probably have the same setting somewhere!
