Lego Compatible Banked Turn Transition Track (Prototype 4)
thingiverse
This is the track piece I designed as a transition into the LEGO compatible banked turn. It measures 12 studs (96mm) long with the banked end connector being places 1 plate (3.2mm) lower than the unbanked end. 4th Prototype version is recommended to be downloaded. As the name suggests, this is the fouth prototype version of this piece. The first two (one with and without the support spine) were only 8 studs (64mm) long, and the trains had severe difficulties traversing it. The cars were not designed to bank and twist in this manner, and an extreme amount of friction and upstop pad wear was generated from this tight twist. The third, for which the files are still available here, had issues connecting to the supports. Expect updated version of this piece to come out, and for this prototype to also have issues with speed loss.
