Lego City Straight Tracks with Double Switch
grabcad
These printable tracks are modeled for standalone use of Lego L Gauge trains. As usual, nothing I found online fit the tracks that come with the trains (couplings are always wrong). The switch design is based on one I found on printables. Everything is designed from the geometry listed on l-gauge.org. Instead of using bricks to secure the joints, I created a custom tie that does a much better job of keeping the connection immobile. Without base plates, speeding trains easily distort tight turns. The surface geometry is a bit of a mess. Compounding errors from numerous fudges and tweaking. As much as this annoys me, the aim here is functional printed tracks, and these work, are the proper size/angles as whole track sections. Much thanks to dk, who's models gave me a great starting point. Any train parts in the files are his. The flex tracks require a 4-6mm M3 screw and hex nut. Stl files include supports for the rail joints so none are needed from the slicer. I've printed these in ABS, ASA, PLA, PHA and PETG with no problems.
