Combination of 4 rare Lego part #2580 Support 2 x 2 x 5 Lattice Pillars requires serious searching skills, since they only pop up in teeny-tiny quantities or are offered for a hefty price, especially when you're looking for red. Check it out at https://ideas.lego.com/projects/124515 to lend a hand! **Oct 2018 update:** a revised rev1 file should clear up scaling issues that showed up with new versions of Cura Print Settings: Rafts: No Rafts Supports: Yes, you will need supports! Notes: When it comes down to getting the best possible results, be sure to enable support structures for the whole model. Feel free to experiment with disabling stitching and combining options so that the bottom of the model stays open for attaching other pieces. Unfortunately, I couldn't manage to get it to print those top holes, but maybe you'll have more luck figuring out the right settings! For my Lego project, though, getting the holes printed wasn't as big a deal, so hit me up if you figure out how to do it! Keep in mind that with most 3D printed Lego pieces, the model may need to be scaled up by one or two percent to fit the pieces together correctly. What I found worked best was increasing my Ultimaker 2 settings to both 2.8% horizontal and one percent vertical, but your results might vary depending on which printer and material you use. Post-Printing How I Designed This Project Building this model wasn't all that hard, since it started with a single 2580 from the LDraw library, scaled it up in Blender to suit my needs, corrected some of the model's normals and made copies of it three times. Then, all four pieces were selected at once, exported as one STL file, after which it was simply a matter of trying different slicing settings until I got what I needed!
