LEGO 886-1 Space Buggy
thingiverse
This is a remix of the outstanding work done by Discosteveworld. The primary changes are made to the wheels - I aimed to design them as single pieces that do not need any fasteners for the wheel (you still have to source qty 2 4mm x 50mm rods per wheel set, or a single 4mm x 100mm per set). To make the single wheel work I redesigned the hub and tire and printed the tire with Fillamentum Flexfill 92A at 0.15mm layer height, 2 perimeters and no infill. This combination allows for sufficient give that the tires can be forced over the printed wheels. I also redesigned the wheel plate brick to more closely match the original piece. The disadvantage is that each wheel now requires printing and gluing 3 additional pieces to hold the axles in place, but I personally like the aesthetic you get with this layout. I also made minor changes to the rest of the bricks to adjust for the tolerances of my printer (Prusa i3 mk3) and to make them slightly easier to click together (chamfered edges on the bottom internal pieces for example). Colors chosen were based on my lack of colors to choose from, not any attempt at originality or artistic expression.
