it's absolutely nothing more than an innocent toy, a harmless device designed to entertain and amuse kids or houseguests alike, and yet here we are. no explosives or danger in sight whatsoever. just a cleverly crafted novelty item meant to elicit laughs from onlookers. personally, i'm not quite sure what inspired this peculiar design choice but so be it. on a related note, this contraption bears an uncanny resemblance to the iconic wind waker bombs from the legendary Zelda series.
