Legally Distinct is a 150g UK Antweight drum spinner combat robot. This design was heavily inspired by Siren, another antweight drum spinner: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3168700 I haven't actually built this yet but I'll post updates as and when I get round to them. Does it work? Who knows! Does it make weight? Probably not! Will it explode the moment you spin up the weapon? Most likely! If you decide to build this then you're either a moron or have no sense of self-preservation. With that out of the way, here we go! Designed entirely in TinkerCad. I designed it to use 2 N20 motors (probably 600rpm) which *hopefully* should be held in place with the motor mounts in the chassis. I'll either use a malenki nano ESC or a BBB Dual Drive ESC. The motor mount is designed for a BE1806 2300kv Brushless Motor. The drum has a space for a 3mm bearing on one side while the motor should be press fit into the other side. The drum should be held in place with an M3 12mm bolt and M3 nut. Build this at your own risk, I haven't even printed the parts yet let alone tested it. This is a work in progress. V2 Updates, I removed the previous motor mounts as they didn't quite fit, replaced them with these: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5217954 Removed the clips to hold the lid on and replaced with holes for M3 8mm screws. Parts 2 x N20 Gearmotor (600rpm) - https://shop.bristolbotbuilders.com/product/n20/ 1 x BBB Antweight Dual ESC - https://shop.bristolbotbuilders.com/product/bbbantesc/ OR 1 x Malenki NANO ESC - https://shop.bristolbotbuilders.com/product/malenki/ 1 x BE1806 2300kv Brushless Motor - https://shop.bristolbotbuilders.com/product/spinner/ 1 x 20a Brushless ESC - https://shop.bristolbotbuilders.com/product/spinner/ 1 x Pair of 40mm polulu wheels 1 x Receiver of your choice. If you didn't use a Malenki NANO for the ESC I'd recommend one of these - https://shop.bristolbotbuilders.com/product/flysky/ 1 x Transmitter of your choice, I use a FlySky FS-i6X 1 x M3 12mm bolt and M3 nut 4x M3 8mm screw 24/03/2022 First print has arrived, weighs 83 grams with ABS at 20% infill. Might be a gram or two overweight. Will update once I build it. V2.1 After trying to build it I found out my maths was wrong. Wheel arches were preventing the wheels moving freely. I also found that the top parts of the motor mounts were snapping, glad I added the zip tie holes now.... if they snap off during a build it works fine without them. I'll try and add pictures to show where the breaks are. Updated the files to reflect changes which *should* fix this. Also added a mount for the switch. 25/03/2022 Managed to get the brushless motor/esc installed, realised the drum was too large to fit the mount. Removed 3mm from the drum and upladed the new stl file. Ordered the new drum printed in ABS at 20% infill, will update when I've tested it. Currently looking like I'll need to save 3 grams to make weight. 01/04/2022 Updated versions of the drum and chassis arrived. The space for the switch is a little tight, had to cut some material away to make it fit. Everything now fits in the chassis, though it's currently sitting at 154 grams, so I need to find a way to save 4 grams...
