Leg Lamp
thingiverse
I wanted to see if I could craft the Christmas Story Leg Lamp for my parents to display proudly in their bow window. I utilized the Leg file created by jetpuf, cutting it into four sections so that I could easily scale up to make a larger lamp and added a tube in the middle to accommodate a lamp cord, which allows for wiring it for a light bulb socket. I printed the four sections on our MakerBot Replicator2 using its capabilities. Scaling up by 400% was necessary. Printing it in clear PLA with a 5% infill provided a solid foundation. I plan to paint the leg and attach it securely to a wooden circle base, which will serve as the lamp's foundation. A larger lamp shade with fringe is also needed to complete the project. The leg measures 20 1/8" in height. On December 20th, I added a picture of the painted and wired Leg Lamp attached to a wooden base. Now, all that remains is waiting for the fringe to arrive so I can add it to the lamp shade.
