Leeuwenhoek Microscope

thingiverse

We can easily build a very affordable microscope by combining Van Leeuwenhoek's old microscopes with the fantastic cameras found in cell phones and tablets. These simple instruments feature a single strong convex lens measuring 1 to 3 mm in diameter, mounted securely in a tiny hole within the body of the device. To craft an objective, you'll need to prepare a small glass ball that can be carefully pushed into the clip's opening until its front surface is flush with the housing. Alternatively, using a lens from a disposable DVD drive could also yield suitable results.
