Lee Case Trimmer Cutter Knob

Included in files are several knobs to fit the Lee case trimmer cutters for you to choose from. All are the same size as the wood Knob that Lee sells attached to cutters. I glued the knobs onto the cutters with J B Weld epoxy, but I'm sure there are other things that will work. You really only need one cutter, but I prefer to have one for each caliber so that I'm always ready to go, with no set-up time.

The flutes help give you something to hold onto, and also keep the cutter from rolling around on table tops.

STL files:
"Lee Cutter Knob no flat" is a basic round knob with 6 flutes.
"Lee Cutter Knob blank flat" is the same round knob with 6 flutes, and a flat spot for stamping or marking a caliber.
"Lee Cutter Knob 308" is a round knob with 6 flutes, and a flat with .308 embossed.
"Lee Cutter Knob 6.5 Grendel" is a round knob with 6 flutes, and a flat with 6.5 Grendel embossed.

STEP files are included in the CAD Files folder if you want to try to modify them with text for your caliber or whatever.

My Odysee page - https://odysee.com/@Suburban:1

Print Settings
Printer brand:
Creality

Printer:
Ender 3

Supports:
No

Resolution:
0.24-0.32mm

Infill:
65%

Filament brand:
Overture

Filament color:
Space Grey

Filament material:
PETG

Notes:
STL files are scaled in millimeters, as most everything on the Thingiverse site is.

I have printed them with the hole for the cutter down on buildplate, without supports for PLA+, and with conical supports up to 40 degrees for PETG. Both knobs printed turned out about the same with some distortion on the bottom half of the knob. The distortion does not effect function for me, but it will depend on how well you have tuned your bridging settings.

I don't know how to reorient items in the CAD software, so you will have to rotate them in your slicer software.

The knobs have a 1/2" hole for the cutter, but might fit a bit too snug. You may want to scale to 101% in your slicer if you don't have a 1/2" drill bit. You want to have a little extra room for the epoxy.

Block infill around the hole, or print solid. If you print with too much infill, the cutter will break away from the knob.
Instructions for blocking infill can be found in this YouTube video from CHEP: https://youtu.be/su_m5zV9rvA
